Brenham Police are looking for 27-year-old Kenddrick Duwan Coleman, in connection with a double shooting Friday evening.

Two warrants have been issued in Coleman's name, both for attempted murder.

Police say around 6:30 Friday night two people were shot as they were exiting a shop on E. Alamo Street, near the intersection of N. Chappell Hill Street, in downtown Brenham.

Injuries to the victims were not believed to be life threatening.

Coleman is considered to be armed with a handgun, and dangerous.

He is a black male, who is 6 feet tall and weighs 205 pounds. He has tattoos on both arms as well as his face.

Police have received tips that Coleman may be in the Navasota area.
Brenham Police say if you see him call Crime Stoppers at 979-836-TIPS, or Brenham Police at 979-337-1082.

IN THIS CASE I CONSIDER BOTH PARTIES THE VICTIM. I AM RELATED TO THE GENTLEMAN THAT WERE SHOT AND I HAVE KNOWN THE SUSPECTED SHOOTER WHOM WAS THE VICTIM AROUND CHRISTMAS @ THE SUPERCENTER IN WHICH VIDEO CAMERAS CAPTURED THIS EVENT & BPD WERE THERE ALSO. THE SUSPECTED SHOOTER WAS THE VICTIM IN MAY BEING JUMPED BY THE SAME PEOPLE THAT WERE INVOLVED IN THE CASE IN DECEMBER. THE MAY INCIDENT WAS POSTED IN THE BANNER-PRESS BPD WERE INVOLVED ALSO. THE SAME GENTLEMAN THAT ARE THE VICTIMS NOW WERE INVOLVED IN THE CASES WHERE THE SUSPECTED SHOOTER WAS THE VICTIM ALONG WITH SEVERAL OTHER GUYS BOTH TIMES. EVERYONE IS ENTITLED TO THEIR OWN OPINION. HOWEVER I'M NOT TAKING SIDES. THE TRUTH BE TOLD IF YOU ARE MAN ENOUGH TO KEEP PICKING ON SOMEONE WHEN YOU HAVE 4 OR 5 FRIENDS/ RELATIVES TO HELP THEN I FEEL YOU ARE ASKING FOR TROUBLE. FAMILY OR NOT RIGHT IS RIGHT. WE NEED TO TEACH OUR KIDS NOT TO BULLY @ ANY AGE.WE NEED TO TELL OUR KIDS IF THEY ARE WRONG & WE NEED TO STOP UPHOLDING THEM IN WRONG DOING

How many of you that are posting comments live in the Brenham area? How many of you know those boys that were shoot? Exactly, so shut your mouth. BPD aren't doing their job as well as they should be because if they were this guy would have been caught and placed in jail. Houston is way bigger than Brenham and handles cases quicker than BPD is. And way to go BPD you're doing a great job. You let him got away.

BPD like to play big city cops. Let tem take the critsism they deserve. My respect for them has changed. There is an officer who sits just over a hill on Stone. You can't see him until you get right over the hill.Sinve when does Brenham need a speed trap.On that street anyway. He needs to be doing som ereal police work.BPD is a joke. YOu ever try to call crime stoppers and get someone to call you back. Try it.

For all of those ignorant people who are commenting on how this case is being handled by BPD. If you think you can do a better job why don't you go out there and put your life on the line as they are doing. BPD is doing there job in a professional manner, this is how they were trained just like all law enforcement officers out there. BPD is very competent of handling this minor case as they have other cases there is no need to bring in Texas Rangers. Obviously this is just the mentality of people who have no earthly idea what all a criminal investigation entails. So for those of you who have criticised BPD until you have worked it KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT. Next time you need your local law enforcement don't call them if you think they don't know their jobs and how to perform them deal with it yourself.

"Before we start criticizing the work of BPD walk in their shoes for a day, if you know nothing about criminal investigations, then keep your criticism to yourselves." Its not just Brenham, but police work everywhere; Most departments now run "Citizens Police Academies" to educate the public in procedures and the reasons behind them. College Station is looking hard to fill their Fall class; if you'd like to learn what these folks do and why they do it, call CSPD (or the local cop shop where you live) and sign up for a night a week for 8 or 10 weeks to gain some very valuable insights.

Police in Brenham gave a name out. Would not give a description till the 2nd day. A past criminal history would bring more public attention. Description a aid into appreciation. Since the name was first given out it was erevelation not to give a dissipation and past history of criminal activity. Prosecution does not play a role in letting a person escape Le ting a person run around for days that does present a clear and preston danger to the public. BCS has this type of crime all the time and handle it differently. You will see more progressive Police dept in larger area use the same investigation and information techniques do to the expres the have. Brahman has not had much of this type of crime do to a low crime rate. You can put money on it that a Texas ranger is on the case now with BPD. BPD goes not have the resources the state does. brehan welcome to large city crime it the wave of the future in small towns.

I hope they catch this boy before he shoots someone else. He is very dangerous and should be severely punished.

He could be in Bryan too, he'd blend right in..I seriously doubt, when this man is caught, he's going to just give up easily..way to go BPD!

It is obvious some of you who have posted comments, do not know anything about criminal investigations. The police can only release name, charges, and area where this subject is at after the investigation is at a certain point, or as they get receive it.If the police were to release everything right away that would hinder the posecution of this person. Which is not what the police are wanting to do,they want him prosecuted and put away for a long time, to get rid of him from their community. Before we start criticizing the work of BPD walk in their shoes for a day, if you know nothing about criminal investigations, then keep your criticism to yourselves.

What? I can't believe this! Here we have another act of violence carried out by a ghetto rat. This boy shot two people! Hopefully he will get killed and we wont have to pay for his trial and incarceration.

Why is it all trash goes to Navasota.

Posted by: Anonymous Location: Navasota on Jun 14, 2008 at 07:38 PM
Navasota area. It only took two day for BPD to tell us thank you BPD. He could be in New york now.

Posted by: Anonymous Location: Brenham on Jun 14, 2008 at 02:37 PM
The sooner BPD gives a description and details of travel the sooner this person will be picked up. Texas and other states have invested millions of dollars on public communication systems such as amber alert emergency info billboards emergency text and email alerts. It is no wonder this guy has already fled the area. And it is not like he is wanted for j walking. If not caught people like this become more dangerous to the public at large. It's clear the dept. isn't experienced in this type of crime since they just released the name not the person description and the mode or direction of travel. They should have just driven him out of town themselves. With the amount of time that has gone by to hinder the apprehension. You may have been at the store with him and had no idea. But you did see a small comment at KBTX.com.

Lets not tell anyone and description of the shooter and car so he can do it again. Good idea Brenham PD. You dept. is taking chances with others safety. Nice. It is not like he his a deadly threat to the people of Texas. Do we have a Texas Ranger in the area to take over?
