Authorities still haven't released the identity of a Somerville man killed in a double fatality in Burleson County over the weekend.

The Department of Public Safety is trying to notify the 23-year-old's family in Mexico.

Ronald Knipstein, 49, of Brenham also died in the crash that happened Sunday on Highway 36 south of Caldwell.

State troopers say the unidentified driver of a Lexus tried to pass another car on the two-lane highway, but a truck was headed toward him.
Witnesses say the car's driver cut back into traffic, lost control and swerved into the path of the pickup.

Both drivers died at the scene, according to DPS.

The passenger in the Lexus, Santos Eli Romero, 17, of Caldwell was listed in stable condition Monday at Scott and White in Temple.

A third car was hit by flying debris. The driver, Crystal Baez was taken to St. Joseph in Caldwell with minor injuries.

One was treated and released, the other is in stable condition.
