We're all looking for a way to save a buck and there's one place in Aggieland, where you can save more than just one.

Some forgotten items left behind by Texas A&M students have been piling up in the Lost and Found and Wednesday they found themselves new owners.

"I come back here because it's good quality clothing, and it's cheap for a dollar if you bid for it,"one Aggie student said.

It's a gamble some Aggies just can't pass up.

"I actually didn't mean to come here," Justin Chambers said. "I just walked by and saw everything."

Texas A&M Senior Justin Chambers may have had no intention of shopping, but after spotting table, after table, after table of discounted items even he couldn't pass up a good deal.

"I'll probably bid a dollar, probably two or three dollars for the jackets and see if anybody bids. It's fun," Chambers said.

Judging by the crowd of people lining up, Justin isn't the only one looking for a bargain.

"Once in the Spring and once in the Fall, we have an auction of all the items that have been lost for over 120 days because they actually become our possession," Kayla Netherland said.

But one's man's loss becomes another's gain.

Kayla Netherland, is one of the organizers of the MSC Hospitality Lost and Found event and says people come each year hoping to find a few highly prized possessions.

"Definitely, iPods, cell phones, calculators, MP3 players, any electronics are especially big, and jump drives," Netherland said.

Aggie Kacie Price was hoping to get a good deal on this jump drive she picked out but quickly learned the high stakes risk involved with bidding in an auction. Another bidder keeps raising those stakes.

"I figured I could get it for a dollar but it was $15," Price said. "I didn't want to, but he kept saying yes."

In the end, both Kacie and Justin spent less for all the items they bought combined, than they would have in the store.

Proceeds from the Lost and Found Auction benefit programs like Bonfire Memorial Tours and General campus tours put on by MSC Hospitality.
