The search for a missing Bryan man turns up a body in Robertson County.

Brandon Rosales, 23, went missing over the weekend after reportedly being threatened at a party.

And Tuesday, a few hours after joining in the search, Texas EquuSearch discovered what family members feared.

The search began at the Oaks apartment complex in Bryan and continued towards Mumford in Robertson County.

It's a desperate plea, from a desperate mother looking for answers.

"Somebody knows something, somebody has seen something and I wish, and I'm begging them for any information they have towards my son, please call me, contact the police," Brandon's Mother Sally Rodriguez said.

Sally Rodriguez has found herself living out every mother's worst nightmare.

"I'm looking for my son," Rodriguez said.

"I think there's a lot of strength in numbers when it comes to something like this," Texas EquuSearch Member Tim Miller said.

Miller, alongside dozens of friends and family, and volunteers began the daunting task of searching for Brandon Rosales.

A search conducted by air, takes volunteers through thick brush and ravines on foot, and even down by the side of the water in Robertson County.

"We know that's a 15 mile area," Miller said. "There's a lot of searchers here and we certainly are interested in the river of course."

"Alive or dead, I just want my son," Rodriguez told an EquuSearch member. "We'll do our best," he replies back.

"As of now it doesn't look good, things don't look good in the whole picture," Miller said.

Just a couple hours into the search EquuSearch members find what they most fear, a body. It's found just about a mile from where Rosales' car was found burning early Saturday morning.

"I actually had seen some tire tracks and we walked left of the tire tracks to not contaminate anything, and the body was laying right there in that brush pile," Miller said. "It's one of the most difficult things I've had to say to families, and unfortunately I've had to do it too many times."

Texas EquuSearch and Bryan Police have now positively identified the body to be that of Brandon Rosales.

Family and Friends of Rosales were notified Tuesday afternoon, and they gathered at a church in Bryan to grieve.

Police say an autopsy will be performed Wednesday to determine the cause of death.

Right now, Bryan police say they are not sure if the crime is gang-related. Currently, they are assisting Robertson County Sheriff's Office Investigation.

I'm Brandons fiance and all i would like to say is that all of the people who think that brandon had this coming simply because he made a few mistakes in his past are being very hypocrtical and petty...no one has the right to take anyones life...PERIOD! I don't care what the motive was... Brandon was a good person...with a good heart and he didnt deserve this at all..We all have a past...And we all have made some decisions in our lives that we regret at one point or another but does that mean we have to be malliciously murdered? because if thats the case then every single person on this earth would have to die then huh? Brandon Was one of the sweetest people that i have ever met in my life and it saddens me to know that a beatiful soul like his had to be put to rest while these heartless murderers are still here...instead of focusing on brandon...why dont yall think about these criminals..on the loose.. ready & willing to take another life..would you want this 2 happen ur loved one?

to find all of the people who did this to your son you should go to cc's bar

Im going to agree with the guy that posted at 8:06 am you are totally right, and a little more knowledge for the ingorant ones that are posting such inconsiderate comment like "if you know brandon you know exactly WHY he died" this is a news forum, and the comments have to be approved before posting. So by you thinking just cause you type anonomous your invisable your IP adress can be traced, and im sure if the news thinks your comments need attention bought to them I am sure they will make the proper arrangements to obtain your IP adress to bring you in for questioning. Reguardless what happend to brandon, and why is over with. Let him rest in peace

To the 2 posters that are insinuating that you know the facts, if you are so sure of what happened or why it happened - put your money where your mouth is and go to the cops. Otherwise don't assume you know what happened. Unfortunately, those who do know are those that did the crime and Brandon.

We need the "First 48" crew from Miami here, they would catch this people in one day...

Posted by: another friend Location: bryan on Nov 21, 2008 at 01:14 PM
yes i am sorry for sally but in reality everyone needs to get the facts straight on what really happened he was as guilty as the other people he wore blue ,(gang related) plus he sold drugs on the street do you really know what happened ? do know if he as well pulled out a gun on the other people ? you think about it before u say he is innocent?????????????

Wow, Brandon looks a lot meaner in his mugshot on justice web.

Posted by: shocked at some Location: bryan,tx on Nov 21, 2008 at 08:34 AM
to those of you who say it all begins at home. i agree, but you don't know how his mom raised him, and you should not assume anything. sometimes you can do the best job ever and your children will still make bad choices. i'm not saying he made one b/cause we don't know what happened. but please dont' add insult to injury by pointing fingers at the family. they are going thru enuf. if you don't have somthing good to say, please keep your mouth shut. there is enuf hurt and pain already. have compassion please.if he was your child would you want people saying you didn't raise him right? put yourself in this mothers shoes.

Posted by: Anonymous on Nov 21, 2008 at 08:28 AM
To Brandon's relative... if you are close family, then you know exactly WHY he died.

Posted by: Anonymous on Nov 21, 2008 at 08:06 AM
Prayers to the family. This is very tragic. Reading these comments, I am convinced that this community on the whole is far less educated than I previously thought. It is "sorry for your LOSS" people, not "sorry for your LOST." Rosie, "no different than Houston or Dallas?" Are you serious? Never lived there I'm guessing. So you moved to Iola. Congratulations...you are now in the middle of the largest percentage of meth labs in the Brazos Valley. Carol, Carol, Carol.... I know you're lacking the neccessary synapses upstairs to draw a valid thought, but why call out BPD as if you know anything about the legal process? And how could they have prevented this? Were they called when the initial threat was made, or were they just supposed to know this was going to happen by osmosis? BCS residents: Please think about what you're saying before posting ridiculous jargain in broken English on this blog. There are members of other communities reading this too.

I am still in shock over this. When my sister told me what had happen I didnt want to believe it. I had just seen Brandon that week driving to campus in his brent rice truck. I could only shake my head in disbelief over what my sister was telling me. I remember hanging out with brandon and my uncle victors house with all our cousins. Always laughing and joking. I remember our common interest with the same rap group and how we would spend countless hours talking about them. All the memories I have of brandon have and will always be positive. I know Brandon didn't desrve this, and there is no perfect crime. An eye for an eye is not the answer. We need to stop fighting fire with fire, come together and take a stand. My condolences go out to the rosales family, May God confort you as we mourn for this tragic incident

My heart goes out to sally and her family. This is such a terrible thing that happened. NONE should have to go through this. Why hasnt any body been caught.. why is there so many unanswered questions. Why did the police not do anything. Some one had to have seen something. Who ever did this I hope that its eating them alive. What could he have possibly done to deserve this.. This was such a hateful crime. We need to catch who ever did this!! And how dare people judge him.. how cold hearted.

Posted by: Kristy Martinez Location: Bryan on Nov 20, 2008 at 07:48 PM
Im so sorry about Brandon! He was a really nice and sweet person and thats tragic for this to happen in your family.I have known him for a long time and im sending you all my blessings! My prayers are with you guys! Take Care

Posted by: amazed Location: bcs on Nov 20, 2008 at 07:21 PM
i am amazed when i read the mentality of our police chiefs who are preaching.TARGET THE CRIMINAL...NOT THE CRIME...so we will leave gang activity and other criminal activity alone...and only target the criminals.this may work in irving and other states , but i dont think its gonna do to well for our texas community.

To my friend Sally and all of the Rosales family, i offer my deepest sympathy. I am heartbroken to hear about the loss of your beautiful son, Brandon. We are thinking of you, praying for you and we send our love.

i don't know this young man and i can't imagine in a million years the hurt an pain his mother is feeling right now.to the rosales family keep your head up and look to the hills and that is to god.what the devil meant for bad god is meaning for your good. you are in my prayers

Posted by: Anonymous on Nov 20, 2008 at 03:24 PM
Who are the owners of The Oaks apartment complex and why hasn't it been closed down by BPD? If the owners are going to continue to let criminals live there and permit illegal activity, BPD should take their property.

Posted by: tessa Location: bcs on Nov 20, 2008 at 02:09 PM
Did he have children? i see his family is posting comments on here also if there is anything we can do to help sally anyway please let us know does anyone know when funeral arrangments will be made everyone needs to get off trying to PLAY detective no matter if it was gang realated, or not YOU should not judge someone you knew nothing about so let the family grieve and be considerate please when posting your comments

Posted by: to anon Location: right by you on Nov 20, 2008 at 10:52 AM
From the way you are talking through your comment about what happen to Brandon, maybe the police need to find your airhead a!@ and question you about what happen to poor little Brandon.Because for a person to be as cold hearted as you are in your comments, you must have been one of his HATER FANS too. So,we will pray for your sick evil self ok.MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL!THE ROSALES FAMILY AND BRANDON CHILDREN!

Posted by: to sarah Location: bryan on Nov 20, 2008 at 10:05 AM
Blame it on the management at the oaks for allowing the criminals to live there. BPD has NET officers who are constantly trying to convince managers to do background checks on their residents.

Posted by: d Location: bryan on Nov 20, 2008 at 09:51 AM
"you live by the sword you die by the sword" wow! that says a lot! Why is everyone talking about this being gang related if Brandon was such a good guy, he had to be associated somehow. That doesn't give anyone the right to kill, but I have to believe there is more to the story. My heart goes out to his mother, I just can't imagine the pain she feels. God bless you Sally!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: Anonymous Location: Bryan on Nov 20, 2008 at 09:33 AM
OMG!!Really are you blaming the police for this???This is really sad and may god be with the family in this trying time, but lets stop and think for a minute!!!From comments being made there is more going on and the family knows more, why didnt Brandon stay at home after being threatened earlier that night? Why didnt he take is truck home with him when the family member came to pick him up???As well like anon has stated IT ALL STARTS AT THE HOME!!!!

Posted by: Anonymous Location: Booger County on Nov 20, 2008 at 09:09 AM
I too am saddened by this news, and I also have questions. First off did Robertson County actually know there was a missing person involved with this burning vehicle? FACT... Robertson County is providing vehicles at tax payers expense so that the constables can do RURAL PATROL... it even says so on the doors to there provided vehicles. So why aren't they patrolling the RURAL areas. On almost any given night, they can be found parked at a local 24 hour business establishment in Hearne for hours at a time. Although I don't exactly appreciate seeing my tax dollars going to waste Iam sure the business establishment surely appreciates the "free" sense of security that them being parked there provides. Go figure.......

Im sorry for the lost of brandon he was a true friend ur famliy is in my prayers and those who feel that because he was young it has to be gang related it yall need to know the facts b 4 talkin

Posted by: Anonymous on Nov 20, 2008 at 07:21 AM
to the poster who said live by the sword die by the sword... unfortunately that is so true. It's a shame that this happened, but when you associate with people who live that way also... it's the nature of things. I do hope that justice is served.

Posted by: anon Location: brazos co on Nov 20, 2008 at 12:56 AM
why blame the police. people, you know who i'm talking about, you need to do a better job of raising your children. educate them at a young age on the evils of the world instead of waiting for something like this to happen. IT ALL STARTS AT HOME!

Posted by: someone Location: bryan on Nov 20, 2008 at 12:04 AM
i am so sorry for what happen i hear so much suff i hope they find who did this cause there has been to many gang killings, and they have not arrested anyone for the death of l,r so now BPD get on the ballstop the killings start aressting the right people.

Posted by: another tragic end Location: bryan,tx on Nov 19, 2008 at 10:59 PM
this is very sad. it seems we have had at least 3 murders recently, and a few that are still unsolved in bryan in recent yrs. i hope justice will be served. i cannot imagine what his mom,and family are going through knowing that somebody killed there child like this. glad the search was successful. at least you have some closure. the details will come out soon. bryan is a small town and somebody will talk soon.

Posted by: To Carol Location: Brayn on Nov 19, 2008 at 10:11 PM
You are an idiot to try and blame BPD. It isn't their fault someone decided to kill Brandon. You need a reality check honey. This is a very tragic situation, and I am sure the family is at a loss on what to do next. Be with them and give them comfort rather than blaming the police department. Maybe they didn't start looking right when the car was found, who knows, but chances are, Brandon was probably already with God. Not to mention the crime scene being in ROBERTSON COUNTY,,,NOT BRAZOS!!! May God bless the Rosales family and give them strength to get through the days and months ahead.

Posted by: to carol Location: bryan,tx on Nov 19, 2008 at 10:06 PM
its unfair for you to attack the police like this. they have to follow procedures. the closed casket funeral is because of the condition of the body when found. it has nothing to do with the police but all to do with the killers.

Many prayers for the family. It is so sad that you had to lose Brandon. Lean on God. He will comfort you at this very difficult time.

I agree Carol the safety of the city is at risk. The word has been out for days on the Bryan gang doing this crime. Still no arrest.

The City of Bryan Police Department has no jurisdiction in Robertson County which is where the burned vehicle was found.

To the Rosales Family, words cannot express the sadness and the pain I feel in my heart for the senseless way that you lost your son. My son knew him and my son is saddened too, he told me that your son was a very nice person and very friendly. We were both praying for Brandon to come home safely. You are not alone, we are all here for you and praying for you all as you go thru this difficult time. You will always keep Brandon's memories close to your heart and he will always be with you. He is now in a better place resting in God's loving arms. You all have an angel watching and loving you all. God be with the Rosales family.

I am a relative by marriage of Brandon's family. This tragedy could have been prevented if the BPD would get their act together. BPD--- you know there are gangs and criminals out there and in some cases know who these evil people are. It seems to me that a whole lot more focus needs to be put on the safety of our community. Why were'nt they looking for Brandon as soon as the burned SUV was found. It was the family who had to get a search going while the BPD sat on their butts. There will be a closed casket funeral for Brandon. It is so sad to know that Sally won't be able to say good-bye to her son by seeing him and finding closure. She will always wonder if it was really her son who was buried. We love you and your family Sally. May God bless each of you

The Bryan Crime problem has been out of control for 25-years. No surprise the Bryan Gang problem is out of control also. Until BPD can make some arrests for the murder people just in the past few months along with the past murder in Bryan on their web-site. We are all at risk in CS.

Posted by: Anonymous on Nov 19, 2008 at 12:34 PM
I am a part of the Rosales family and like many others I was out searching for him Tuesday. I can't believe they did this to him.. I am still in shock over all of this. Brandon was such a great person. He was so young and handsome and now his life is over.. and for what? What could he have done to make someone act in such a cruel way and take his life? There was no reason for them to do what they did to Brandon but you know what they will have to answer for this. Justice will be served and in the end they will stand before God for what they have done. Please pray for Sally (Brandon's mom) she is taking very very hard! She needs all the love and support you can offer her!

I has wondering why nothing was said about the friend in the media that had been beaten the same night that Brandon came up missing. According to email below he was with Brandon that night and was beaten within inches of his life. Bryan gangs have been fighting each other the last year or so. The gang murders and attacks just in the past few months in Bryan are now starting to happen more and more. This may become full Gang Warfare with anyone and anything that gets in their way killed as the fight over drug trafficking areas of Bryan. BPD shot one of them about a year ago. Another gang member turned up shot and killed near downtown a few weeks ago. This is alot for a small city.

I think Sally Rodriguez should deside the punishment of the one(s) responsible for this crime. Not a judge or jury. That is too risky now days. An eye for an eye is true justice. Read The Book of Leviticus. Common Law must make a come-back! God bless you Sally.

My prayers go out to Brandon's family and friends. This violence is getting out of control. God have mercy on those who love you and swift judgement on those who purposly take what does not belong to them; a precious life. I pray for comfort for the Rosales'. Trust in the Lord that Brandon is smiling in heaven with Jesus!

There are absolutley no words to explain the sorrow that I feel for this young man and his family. You will be in my thoughts and parayers always!!I pray to god that the people who did this would be brought to justice, sooner rather than later. To the family and friends of the person or people who have done this to this young man.I hope that any one of you guys would come forward with some kind of information.I don't know how you would be able to live with yourselve's otherwise.I hope the police dont't stop looking until these heartless people are brought to justice!!!

Who is EquiSearch, and why couldn't/didn't Bryan PD find his body? If his body was found near the vehicle, shouldn't it have been discovered sooner if the police department was doing their job? I cannot imagine the pain this family was feeling while waiting for an answer.

Man I kept telling myself that it isnt true. But obviously my hopes and prayers were proven wrong. Brandon was a very good friend who was there for me through out many years. No matter what we figured out a way to contact each other even if months or years had passed by. My prayers go out to the family and I'm sorry for your loss. I also will miss him and mourn with you. RIP Brandon Scott Rosales

Why are there so many problems with The Oaks Apartments. There is so much crime there. We are constantly reading about something happening at that place or something happening after something else has happened there. BPD needs to clean up that area. My prayers are with the family of this young man.

I bet the guy that was with him that just came out of the coma knows who did this. His friend was beaten withtin inches of his life this weekend.

Oh my lord this is horrible news!!! I hope a sense of peace is now with the family knowing their precious loved one is with jesus! Now we need to work on getting the low down dirty trash that did this and let him and others know it will not be tolerated. I feel for this young man bc in the story it said he called a ride to get him even though he had his own car that shows that he felt his life was in danger and instead of confronting the individuals that wanted to harm him he was a responsible young man and left and returned only to pick up his suv which sadly cost him his life people need to grow up and stop looking to violence to make one look "bad" or "cool" now their actions are going to land them in death row or either behind a small cell their whole lives. May God be with the family and my prayers are with the mother (bless her heart) and the rest of the family. KUDDOS to the search team for their time and effort
