He's a familiar face and an even more familiar voice. But Thursday night at the Miramont Country Club, it was the friends of Tom Turbiville who did most the talking.
WTAW's Mary Mike Hatcher joined community leaders like the Royce Hickman, B/CS Chamber of Commerce, and local dentist Bill Birdwell in roasting local radio personality and veterans affairs supporter Tom Turbiville.
There was plenty of great food and good-natured ribbing of a gentlemen who's usually the one dishing it out. "They're honoring me and doing a little bit of roasting so I got my thick skin on and I'm ready," said Turbiville. "But it's a wonderful, wonderful event and I'm truly overwhelmed, I truly am."
The roast was sponsored by David Gardner's Big Give with proceeds going to the Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History.

Homer, what rock did you crawl out from under?
The infomaniacs are in the top ten of things I miss in the Brazos Valley and Tom as the main reason I used to listen to them. Sorry Chase, Scott:) Thanks for the memories and Gig 'Em!!
Tom is a radio host on WTAW's morning show and a great supporter of Veterans.
