Two men are out of jail Tuesday, after being arrested Sunday on charges of animal cruelty.
Roberto Cardona-Gonzales and Eldifonso "Eddie" Montano, bonded out Monday.
The two were arrested after Grimes County law enforcement acted on a tip, and raided a Bedias backyard where they found a full scale cockfighting operation.
More than 200 chickens were seized and 17 roosters were found dead.
Authorities believe the two men hosted 17 fights Sunday afternoon, charging spectators $350 a bet.
On March 5th, a judge could rule if the chickens seized in the raid will go back to the owner, or be given over to the Houston SPCA.

Who ever agrees with any typeof animal abuse is sick and the county of Grimes out in the county truely do not have any concern towards the welfare of animals. They do not have animal control and this could of been a big hype for them. They need to concern themselves with the animals left out on roads bloodied and starved to fend for their self and possibly to be shot because they allow dogs to be shot as opposded of getting picked up and put in a safe place. The fact is k-9's and livestock are on the bottom of the list and they won't even work with the city animal shelter. The animals are severly neglected and heads turn. This was just something to be on the news. The ASPCA need to know the truth and what goes on out in this county. It is just as inhumane as chickens being fought with razor blades. The pit bulls are done the same. There is no rabie control for these people. Dogs wander without shots and reproduce.Someone needs to step up to the plate and truely help the animals.

No Louis, I am not a coward for calling it as I see it. People that get their jollies by causing injury, pain, or death to any living creature will always be pathetic cowards in my book. Why, by the way, are you so irritated that I call these people what they are? You wouldn't happen to be one of those people who laugh at the misery these poor creatures are caused to inflict on each other, would you?
