A domestic disturbance in Burleson County led to some scary moments for a family near Lyons.

Michael Charanza remains in the Burleson County jail. According to police, the 34-year-old had been threatening his mother and sister in their home late Sunday afternoon.

Deputies were concerned enough to put a SWAT team on standby, but when deputies arrived, Charanza turned himself in.

He faces a family violence charge, and Sheriff Dale Stroud says a terroristic threat charge is possible as well.

Charanza is not an unknown individual to Burleson County authorities. Stroud says they have dealt with him on numerous occasions. He has also been in and out of the Brazos County jail 38 times since 1992, according to online records for the county.
