A Shiro Volunteer Fireman is listed in fair condition at a Houston Hospital after his tanker was involved in an accident in Grimes County Tuesday night.
Tim Warren was driving the water tanker to back firefighters already on the scene of a house fire when he was involved in a wreck. The accident happened near the Highway 30 and Highway 90 intersection.
Warren was driving through an intersection when he collided with an 18 wheeler. Warren was airlifted to Hermann Hospital for treatment. Shiro Fire officials tell News 3 Warren had surgery Wednesday morning to help blood flow in one of his legs.
Warren was on his way to a house that was on fire West of Roans Prairie. He was to join several Grimes County fire crews battling the blaze. Part of the home was destroyed. It appears the fire started in the bedroom.
