A long-time pastor in Bryan is moving on.
Tim Owens has resigned as pastor of First Baptist Bryan and is moving back to the church where he first preached, First Baptist Church in Grandfield, Oklahoma.
There, he'll serve as senior pastor, while teaching music at the elementary and high schools. Owens also said he looks forward to pursuing some mission opportunities, and a potential opportunity to pastor at a second church in Oklahoma.
Until a new pastor is selected, First Baptist Bryan will invite visiting pastors, and then enlist an interim pastor until a search committee is in place, Owens said.
Owens' last Sunday at First Baptist Bryan will be May 31. He has served as pastor at the church since 1996.

FBC will greatly miss Pastor Tim. He is a great man of god. I remember when Pastor Tim baptized me back on October 21, 2007. Before he baptized me he wanted to make sure that I knew the real reason of baptized and what being a christian was. Pastor Tim I wish you good luck and God Bless you and your family!!

Thank you God, he is gone. Tim, you should practice what you "preach".

What a sad day for FBC Bryan to lose Pastor Tim. He and Debbie have been such a huge blessing to our church and community. God really put words onto his heart to share each Sunday and I hope the church he returns to knows just how lucky they are!! We will miss them terribly! Good Luck and we will continue to pray for you and your exciting new spportunities to spread God's love.
