It's an identification that brings closure to an unsolved case. An hopefully, a Grimes County family.

Human remains found near Singleton have been positively identified as belonging to Carlos Rodriguez Jr. who's been missing for more than four years. Those remains were discovered in October in a wooded area near the home of Rodriguez's parents.

Authorities enlisted the help of forensic anthropologists at the University of North Texas who confirmed it was Rodriguez.

The 18-year old teen disappeared in October 2004. Grimes County Sheriff deputies conducted an intensive search, but couldn't come up with any leads until they discovered the remains. They also found a rope and rifle nearby.

Foul play has been ruled out and the case closed.

If the remains were "near the home" and the law conducted "an extensive search", why didn't they find his body 4 years ago?

I agree with most of the posts here, except for Kyle. You have no idea. Most of us here have to remain anonymous because if we state our names there could be payback. Hysterics? Don't count on it. Most everyone here knows what happened and who did it. People came forward with information and they were ignored. And as far as KBTX's headline goes....forensics may have solved the identity of the body but the Grimes Crooked Sheriff's Department NEVER solved this crime. I'll repeat. They never solved this crime.

i think the parents of this young man should get them a lawyer and reopen the case cause something is not right. they did not find the body at first when they did the search , so how is it now after 4 years you find his body? answer is somebody put it there.
