Bryan & College Station Win Communication Awards
Both Bryan & College Station come home with awards they have won for communications.

The City of Bryan took home four awards – more than any other Texas municipality – at the Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers conference in Lewisville on Friday.
Bryan was honored for its biweekly program Bryan Living and Learning, a partnership with B.I.S.D. co-hosted by Communications Specialist Allen Bruggman and BISD Communications Director Sandy Farris.
The City’s “Help Bryan” campaign won Best Marketing Campaign with Least Dollars Spent. The campaign, which features the website www.helpbryan.com and series of humorous public service announcements, directed more than 6,000 calls to the City’s public works hotline in the first three months after it was launched.
A PSA highlighting Bryan P.D.'s VIPER program won Best PSA, and the environmental DVD “Buzz’s Big Tour” won Best Special or One-Time Program.
The award-winning communications programs were all created in-house by Bryan’s Communications and Marketing Department, led by Communications Director April Saginor. The team includes Bruggman, Eyre, Webmaster and Multimedia Specialist Shawn Smith and Video Production Specialist Craig Weaver.
COLLEGE STATION WINS THREE COMMUNICATIONS AWARDS
The City of College Station Public Communications Department received three awards from the Texas Association of Municipal Information College Station was honored for these projects in these categories or divisions:
1st Place, Smoke Detector Safety Video PSAs - Video PSA, Population 75,000+
1st Place, 2008 Bond Referendum - Marketing Campaign, Population <100,000
2nd Place, “Access” E-newsletter - Technological Services (All Cities)
