Family and friends are remembering a Navasota teen taken to soon.

A candlelight vigil for Jessica Mattern, 16, was held Friday evening in front of Navasota High School.

Mattern died Wednesday night after the suburban she was in flipped on FM 3090, about eight miles north of Navasota. Four others were injured in the crash, including Jessica's four-year-old sister Sierra Simmons who is being treated at a Houston hospital for brain trauma.

An account has been set up for the family of Jessica and Sierra. The account has been set up at Guaranty Bank of Navasota. It is in the name of mother, Crystal Simmons, for the benefit of Jessica Mattern and Sierra Simmons.

For more information, call Guaranty Bank financial services representative Christy Ellis at 936-825-7555 or 979-574-6913.

The parents and Amanda need to be punished by law. Poor poor Amanda didn't meant to... Doesn't matter if it was unintentional, it happened. She should be in grief, but feel sorry for her?!? What about the family that lost 2 children, their only daughters.
