Bruce Unger, a former Bryan teacher and local soccer coach, pleads guilty this morning to all charges against him.
At the time of sentencing, the victims will be given the
opportunity to provide victim impact statements.
Unger faced two new counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child after authorities say one of his victims gave them new information about additional contact he had with the 29-year-old.
Unger was already facing half a dozen charges of aggravated sexual assault and indecency with a child.
Unger jumped bail and fled to Europe in late 2007, and was caught by Ukrainian authorities a year later.

I'm glad that he finally accepted responsibility for what he did. Now I only hope that the families that he broke with his actions can now slowly rebuild. Those poor children will NEVER be the same because of what he did to them.

I am thrilled that the boys won't be forced to tell their stories in front of a jury. To me that is simply one more form of child abuse to be forced to testify about these horrible memories in front of so many people they do not know, and worse, in front of the slime who committed these cruel acts upon these children. The children who were going to testify are heroes to me. For adolescent boys to have their traumatic experiences laid bare in a room full of adults-including the pervert who stripped them of their innocence and terrorized them so they were afraid to seek help from those whom they trusted and loved--was, in its way, worse than that creep spending 40 years, or 20 years in prison. I sincerely hope that he is not kept in a secluded cell...he deserves to experience the fear and terror that each of his victims relives every day of their young lives.

It makes me sick that he only got 40 years. He'll be allowed to perp on more kids when he gets out. Shameful of the DA.
