A Burleson County jury rules in favor of Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad in a cancer lawsuit.
Former employee Dennis Davis had sued the company for nearly $50 million in damages claiming his cancer was caused by exposure to chemicals at the railroad tie plant.
During the 10-week trial, Davis' attorneys brought in expert witnesses -- including one from Texas A&M -- to testify on the long-term effects of toxic exposure.
But in the end, the jury was not convinced the BNSF was liable.
This marks the second unsuccessful lawsuit against BNSF surrounding the Somerville plant.

I knew Mr. Davis for a number of years and I followed thru and did my research and to todays count 71 people have cancer in the small town of Somerville and 22 of these people have past on. Mr. Davis knew even if he had won the law suit he wouldn't have lived long enough to see any money, his hope was to help every victom of somerville. I think it's odd that every one on the jury was from out of state but one and the one person that wasn't was his ex-son inlaws mother which is a conflict of interest.

I know that my family and I won't be going to a town with this much controvery. I'd advise anyone in the surrounding areas to STAY AWAY from this town... who knows what you'll be exposed to and it's not worth the risk.
