Its part of a No Refusal Weekend, in which judges are on standby to sign search warrants for DWI suspects who won't voluntarily give a breath or blood sample. While College Station Police Department isn't officially participating in No Refusal Weekend, it doesn't mean officers aren't keeping a close eye on all drivers.
There are several July 4th events planned around the Brazos Valley, and area law enforcement will be out patrolling especially during the evening.
During "DWI No Refusal" weekend in April, two DWI suspects were forced to give blood after refusing an alcohol breath test.

They need to quit patroling Shipley's donuts for over sized bear claws and do some real police work. Only 1/5 of the murders in this town have resulted in an arrest and they're not even positive that guy did it...

"Can Bryan/College Station make this a nightly duty?" Because, oh great srraw man builder, a no refusal weekend doesn't mean the cops are doing any extra patrols, but rather that they are paying judicial staffers (not the judge; he's ALWAYS on 24/7, but the clerks who have to dot all the i's and cross all the tee's EXACTLY according to all the procedures with no typos or factual errors to avoid "civil liberterians" like you from getting the evidence excluded because it wasn't collected "correctly") overtime to be available to get the warrants required to take the blood from somebody who's too drunk to refuse (because of the classic "victory for civil rights" where the case was dismissed because a judge declared that a blood draw collected without a warrant proved that the defendant was too drunk to give his consent) . "Not participating"simply means that CSPD hasn't made it policy to blood test every uncooperative driver who MIGHT be drunk...That said why didn't they do this for TR?

Well, La-Dee-D., The police are going to try to make the 4th a safe holiday. Why don't they do this every day or is that asking too much to ask?
