Brazos County officials are warning residents about a scam they've heard about before and are hearing about again.

Residents are being called and told they've missed jury duty and will face a fine or be locked up for failing to appear. The callers then ask for personal info that they could use to steal your identity.

County officials say they'll make contact with potential jurors through mail mostly, but if they do call, they won't ever ask for sensitive information.

If you get a call like this, call the county's jury coordinators at 3614224.

Alex: Why is it necessary to challenge authority? You live in a country where jury duty is a part of being a citizen. If you don't like it, move somewhere else, like where they don't use juries and you are guilty until proven innocent.
