Two big lane closures to tell you about this weekend. The first one takes place Friday evening. Southbound traffic on Texas 6 in College Station will be reduced to one lane all weekend. The shut down begins Friday evening at 7.

This reduction of lanes is because of construction on a bridge between F.M. 2818 and Rock Prairie Road.

TxDOT says they're doing the work over the weekend when traffic is at a minimum. Construction should be wrapped up by Monday morning.

But just as that project is wrapped up, another one will start.
Just after midnight Monday, crews move into Rock Prairie Road and Welborn Road or 2154.

TX DOT says they will close the road to build a new intersection.
This project is expected to take four days.
