A Navasota I.S.D. teacher who investigators claim admitted touching a student inappropriately, will not have his bond reduced.
Roberto Andaverde is being held on a $100,000 bond. District Attorney Tuck McLain said Andaverde, who is originally from Mexico, is a flight risk.
34-year-old Andaverde was a bilingual kindergarten teacher at Webb Elementary for several years.
Last a month, a female student claimed he touched her inappropriately over three days.
Police said Andaverde confessed to hugging and touching the victim on two separate occassions, and told police he was curious. He faces 40 years in prison if convicted.

Hopefully, justice will be served and I don't mean burn this man on the fire... I mean find the truth. A child's life is a terrible thing to ruin, but also a man's reputation and freedom. The claim should be investigated, specially if the child made similar accusations in the past (which according to the news is the case). I say put the child ahead of everything and investigate the parents also. There is something fishy about all this... Truth, come out, come out, wherever you are....

Sara, You are absolutely right, the children are of course on the top of the list. They are our first priority every day. Trust issues? Yes, for the kids, as well as myself and others who work there. For myself, I wonder if I can trust my own instincts of people I work with from now on? I was certainly let down this time....And God is in charge, nothing happens on this earth that God doesn't cause or allow to happen. He doesn't hand out sin, it is just present, but God allows people to make choices, and sometimes those choices hurt many people. My point was that He will ultimately work this for good, as that is what God does for believers. We have to trust that, knowing He is ultimately in control of all of this. Hopefully I have said this better. My heart hurts for ALL who are affected by this, and I pray daily that we will see God work mightly through it.
