Planned Parenthood has been a part of Abby Johnson's life for the past eight years; that is until last month, when Abby resigned. Johnson said she realized she wanted to leave, after watching an ultrasound of an abortion procedure.

"I just thought I can't do this anymore, and it was just like a flash that hit me and I thought that's it," said Jonhson.

She handed in her resignation October 6. Johnson worked as the Bryan Planned Parenthood Director for two years.

According to Johnson, the non-profit was struggling under the weight of a tough economy, and changing it's business model from one that pushed prevention, to one that focused on abortion.

"It seemed like maybe that's not what a lot of people were believing any more because that's not where the money was. The money wasn't in family planning, the money wasn't in prevention, the money was in abortion and so I had a problem with that," said Johnson.

Johnson said she was told to bring in more women who wanted abortions, something the Episcopalian church goer recently became convicted about.

"I feel so pure in heart (since leaving). I don't have this guilt, I don't have this burden on me anymore that's how I know this conversion was a spiritual conversion."

Johnson now supports the Coalition For Life, the pro-life group with a building down the street from Planned Parenthood. Coalition volunteers can regularly be seen praying on the sidewalk in front of Planned Parenthood. Johnson has been meeting with the coalition's executive director, Shawn Carney, and has prayed with volunteers outside Planned Parenthood.

On Friday both Johnson and the Coalition For Life were issued temporary restraining orders filed by Planned Parenthood.

Rochelle Tafolla, a Planned Parenthood spokesperson issued the following statement: "We regret being forced to turn to the courts to protect the safety and confidentiality of our clients and staff, however, in this instance it is absolutely necessary."

The temporary restraining order contends that Planned Parenthood would be irreparably harmed by the disclosure of certain information, but does not bar Johnson or Coalition For Life volunteers from the premises.

As of Sunday evening, neither Johnson nor Carney had seen the complaint filed against them that prompted the restraining order.

A hearing about the order has been set for November 10.

Reproductive "rights" may be granted by law, but are not, using today's American definition thereof, granted by the one God, YHWH. IFF (If and ONLY if) there was not independent life present in the womb, I could easily accept abortion as an alternative. IFF there was not an eternal soul involved IN THE WOMB (before exiting his/her mother), then there would be no argument about abortion. Legally & medically, life exists where life signs exist. By every argument --legal, medical, and "religious", but more importantly than any of those, Biblical-- there IS INDEPENDENT LIFE already existing in the mother's womb. To unnaturally terminate that life is first degree murder, should be tried as such, and the abortionist sentenced, via capital punishment (legally implemented, not vigilantied). Life and individuality are found in the pre-born. They are therefore citizens. Murdered contrary to the Constitutions of the U.S.A. and States. It is only an evil fool who does not see this.

Craig, my intent is to educate people who try to use the Bible as a medical guide. You don't seem to be able to see the difference between mythology and science. I'm amazed at you & others who spend so much time trying to convince us all that birth and reproduction should be guided by ancient writings, but heart surgery & dentistry may use modern science. It's America, so you may choose to believe that you have a complete unabridged "word of God," but the books in the Bible, based on an illiterate people's oral traditions, were chosen by the Catholic church in 325 AD, & many writings were excluded & even burned. You wouldn't allow a cardiologist who only read the Bible to operate on your heart, so stop expecting the rest of us to base our reproductive decisions on Genesis or Deuteronomy. FYI: no anger here; I was raised in a fundamentalist church, FYI, and am only sad at the time & money I wasted promoting such a damaging viewpoint. Peace, but no compromise on reproductive rights!
