If you are a fan of knights in shining armor, jousting and medieval merchandise, the Texas Renaissance Festival in Plantersville is no longer your only local option.
This February, Sherwood Forest Faire and Marketplace will open its doors near Paige, a community just outside of Giddings and about 35 miles east of Austin.
It will only be open on weekends, from February 27 through April 4th.
The faire will feature similar attractions and performances to those found at the Renaissance Festival.

I hope it is more like the Plantersville Renfest of old, where the players were a little more "bawdy" and not so many unsupervised children.

This is excellent news! Looking forward to it! Best of luck to the organizers of the faire.
