Bryan Mayor Mark Conlee plans to not seek re-election as mayor, but instead, vie for Brazos County judge.
Because he has less than a year left on his first term as mayor, Conlee would not have to resign in order to run.
He served a term on the council before successfully running for mayor in 2007.
Official filing doesn't begin until Thursday. As of now, Conlee is set to be challenged by former Bryan Mayor Ernie Wentrcek.
Randy Sims, the current judge, has decided not to run.

I have no political motovation to run. But I do have financial motovation. I will run and my platform will be that I want to make the $70K (or whatever it is). I will do my best. I will do it full-time. Any voters out there for "What Tha Heck"?

Mark Conlee cares nothing for the public. Just adding another page to his resume. Hopefully someone more qualified will step up and run against him.

Maybe some one in county government but still on the outside, meaning not a county commisioner, that knows the ins and outs without the need for "learning curve" will step up
