Huntsville police are investigating the murder of a 22-year-old man who died of injuries he received outside a Huntsville nightclub.

At 12:52 a.m. Wednesday, Huntsville Police were notified of a stabbing which occurred in the parking lot of Shenanigan’s Nightclub, located at 1548 11th Street.

Officers and EMS personnel responded and located victim, John Wayne McCrary, age 22, of Shepherd, with multiple stab wounds.

McCrary was taken to Huntsville Memorial Hospital, but was later transferred to Hermann Memorial in Houston where he died during surgery.

Authorities say one of the the club's security workers heard a disturbance and also saw two people running from the scene . Police have conducted multiple interviews and the investigation is ongoing.
