Warrant Issued for Driver Involved in Collision with CSPD Officer
An arrest warrant has been issued for Alex Ford. College Station Police said Ford was behind the wheel of a 2006 Maserati that hit a CSPD officer head-on early Sunday morning.

A high-performance sports sedan driven by an alleged drunk driver crashes head on with a College Station police cruiser leaving the officer seriously injured.
An arrest warrant for intoxicated assault was issued for 21-year-old Alex Ford. She's been upgraded to good condition Monday at the College Station Medical Center, while the officer she collided with has been upgraded to fair condition.
Although initial reports stated that Alex Ford, was currently a Houston resident. Monday we're finding out she is more familiar with this area than first thought, and even had a local address and several local ties.
Long before driving the streets of College Station in a white Maserati, friends say Alex Ford walked the sidewalks at Blinn College.
Ford enrolled at Blinn in the Fall of 2006 as a Criminal Justice major. School officials say she changed her major her second year to English, before leaving in the Summer of 2008.
Outside of the classroom, friends say Ford worked at several College Station bars.
Early Sunday morning, it was near Northgate, that police got the initial report of a white Maserati speeding, and driving recklessly. Nearly 30 minutes later, and a couple more miles down the road, a second call came in reporting cars racing near Eagle Avenue in College Station.
Officer Tracy Sheets was responding to the call when the Maserati struck her patrol car unit head on. Police say Ford was behind the wheel and speeding at the time of the crash.
Following a blood draw, a warrant has been issued for Alex Ford. She faces charges of intoxicated assault causing serious body injury to a peace officer.
Officials say that charge is considered a second degree felony, and punishable by two to 20 years in prison, and a fine of up to $10,000.
Meanwhile, a friend inside the car at the time of the crash, tells News 3 that Alex Ford did not own the Maserati she was driving, but that she had borrowed it for the weekend. Police say temporary tags on the car are registered to a John Jackson of Houston.

Alex Ford was drunk, speeding, and driving on the wrong side of the road. She deserves to be punished, just as anyone else should. I am glad that no one lost their life in this horrible situation. I hope many others learn from Alex's mistakes.
Incredible, how many people could she have injured or killed that night. So many people here are saying it was a mistake, no, it was a decision she made to become intoxicated. A decision made by a sober and reasonably intelligent person. Now that she is sober again, she will have a chance to make the same decisions again. Time will tell if she has learned anything.
