Wellborn residents are considering their next move after plans to have a special election are postponed.
The College Station City Council has declined to address the Citizens for Wellborn's request to have a special election in May which would let residents decide if they would like to incorporate their area.
More than 400 residents signed a petition in favor of calling an election earlier this year.
Instead the City Council is waiting to have a workshop on March 11th when all council members can be present.
At the workshop they will discuss ways the city can assist Wellborn residents in their efforts and see if other avenues are available other than incorporation or annexation.
"And we're gonna talk about our strategy, what do we want to have, what do we want to do? What approaches do we want to follow because we do have several other avenues to be pursuing simultaneously," said Karen Severn, Citizens for Wellborn Secretary.
The College Station Comprehensive Plan calls for annexing Wellborn in three years to ten years time.
A special election could still be possible in November.
Citizens for Wellborn will discuss their plans at a member meeting on Saturday.

How can CS take taxes and not provide services? Aren't there laws about that? It seems like if they promised there'd be services and 12 years later there still aren't, you ought to be able to get unannexed, get your tax money back, or something.
Staying in touch with what is going on back home I see things haven't gotten better with the CS council since we left. It appears they need to have their leash jerked again (I remember they got in legal trouble once on open meetings or something)If the local media won't look into these abuses of power and unconstitutional confiscation of property what about the American Statesman, Texas Monthly, Houston or San Antonio media? Surely there is some lawyer that would like to make a name for themselves on these issues?
When will someone look into what they did with stealing land and forcing people to sign agreements overnight? Wellborn isnt broken into chunks because that was Wellborns choice, College Station came in and took chunks out and forces people to sign agreements.
