Caldwell PD: Major Accident Caused By Tire Blowout

Highway 36 north near Caldwell is back open after a major rollover accident that trapped two men and ejected a female passenger.

The accident happened just after 3 p.m., just 5 miles north of Caldwell on Highway 36.

Burleson County Sheriff’s Department say a tire blew out on the Chevrolet Suburban that all three were in which caused the SUV to rollover.

Part of Highway 36 north was blocked for less than an hour.

Investigators say the two males trapped were sent by ambulance to a local hospital for minor injuries. The woman ejected from the SUV was transported by helicopter to a hospital for major injuries.
