Central Texans are polishing their boots and steaming their hats to prepare for the 43rd annual Elgin Western Days to be held the week of June 19-23 in Elgin, Texas. This year promises to be an event for all ages and should not be missed. On Tuesday, June 19, the Miss Western Days Pageant and Tiny Tot Pageant will kick off the week’s activities. The evening will conclude with the crowning of the Miss Western Days Queen.
The rest of the week proves to be full of down home activities. The carnival opens on Thursday and offers fun for the entire family throughout the week. There will be a Tennis Court Dance in Memorial Park on Friday, June 22.
Saturday, June 23 promises to be an action-packed day. The grand parade begins at 10:00am and no one wants to miss floats, cars and horses meandering down historical Main Street (Loop 109). Following the parade is a fun-filled day in Memorial Park with free admission, food booths, arts/crafts booths, children’s activities, antique tractor show, and volleyball, softball and horseshoe tournaments. Musical entertainment and fun filled performances will be ongoing throughout the afternoon.
