Pre-Mother's Day Celebration Happening Saturday In Bryan

It's a celebration of moms on Saturday, May 5th in Bryan.

Gloria Kennard and friends with Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church are hosting a pre-Mother's Day celebration in honor of moms of all ages.

The free event featured fellowship and food at the church located at 2224 East Martin Luther King Jr. Street in Bryan.

"One thing that we have to remember is that the outcome of this season that we find ourselves in is no different than the outcome of the season that God brought us through last year. Jesus Christ is the same," said Ruby Harris, a minister with New Life World Outreach Christian Center.

The event is happening a little earlier than the actual day we honor mom.

This year Mother's Day is on May 13th.
