Romney to Visit Oklahoma for Campaign Events

Posted: 2:12 AM May 9, 2012
Reporter: AP

Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney is set to return to Oklahoma for a campaign event and a fundraiser.

The presumptive GOP nominee will join Gov. Mary Fallin Wednesday at the Oklahoma Republican Party Headquarters in Oklahoma City after making a stop earlier in the day at an oil and gas company in Colorado.

Romney also is expected to attend a fundraiser with Harold Hamm, chairman and CEO of Oklahoma City-based Continental Resources.

Fallin hasn't formally endorsed a Republican candidate for president, but said Tuesday she's "very supportive" of Romney's candidacy.

Romney finished second to Rick Santorum in Oklahoma's March 6 presidential primary election, getting 28 percent of the vote to 34 percent for Santorum. Newt Gingrich received 27 percent of the vote.

Santorum and Gingrich have both suspended their campaigns.
