While Republicans are getting all the attention in Tuesday's primary election, Texas Democrats are running their own much quieter campaign for the U.S. Senate.
Former state lawmaker Paul Sadler and political newcomer Sean Hubbard are the top-tier candidates fighting for the Democratic nomination.
Sadler served in the state House from 1991-2003. Hubbard has never held political office.
Neither has been able to raise much money. That's because much of the Democratic money is being sent to races in other states where Democrats think they can win.
Texas hasn't elected a Democrat to statewide office since 1994. The last time Texans sent a Democrat to the U.S. Senate was 1988.
