Man Runs Truck Into CSPD Patrol Unit, Resists Arrest

Posted: 8:31 AM Jun 4, 2012
Reporter: Michael Oder

A College Station man is in the Brazos County Jail after falling asleep in his running truck, then resisting arrest when officers tried to remove him from the vehicle.

33-year-old Romualdo Ray Dejesus was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and Resisting Arrest early Sunday morning. Officers responded to the intersection of Harvey Mitchell Parkway and F&B Road around before 2:30am. They found Dejesus unconscious behind the wheel of his gray GMC pickup truck with his foot on the brake pedal. College Station Officer Sean Beatty parked his patrol unit in front of the truck in case the truck pulled away.

When Sgt. Beatty woke Dejesus up, he let off of the brake pedal, letting his truck hit Beatty's car. According to the police report, Dejesus then became confrontational and uncooperative.

It took two officers to arrest Dejesus. He was taken to the Brazos County Jail and charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Resisting Arrest. He's currently being held on $6,000 bond.

This isn't his first run in with law enforcement either. Dejesus was arrested for DWI back in 2008 and resisting arrest in 2002 & 2003.
