A routine traffic stop for a broken headlight netted Bryan Police a large amount of prescription drugs and marijuana.

26-year-old Rudy Ramirez, Jr., was pulled over Tuesday night for a broken headlight. According to the police report, Ramirez was driving with a suspended license and was placed under arrest.

The report says the officer knew that Ramirez had been known for possessing narcotics. When asked by cops if there was anything illegal in the car, Ramirez said there might be a "joint" in the ashtray.

When officer searched the vehicle they found a small backpack that contained 54 grams of marijuana, a large pill bottle with 56 hydrocodone pills inside, a small bag with 20 Vicodin pills inside, a digital scale. Another pill bottle with 7 Alprazolam pills was found underneath the passenger seat.

Ramirez had $695 cash in his wallet. He told police he was a painter, but police found no painting equipment or paint on his clothes. The arresting officer believed the cash was obtained from the sale of drugs.

Ramirez was arrested and charged with three counts of Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 3 less than 28 grams, Possession of Marijuana less than 2 ounces and DWLI-Enhanced with Previous Convictions. He was found guilty back in 2010 of driving with an invalid driver's license.

He was taken to the Brazos County Jail and is being held under $8,000 bond.
