Traffic Plan for Bachmann and Northcliffe Funeral Services
Posted: 11:45 AM Aug 16, 2012 Reporter: College Station Police Department
On Saturday, August 18th there will be two funerals in College Station that will disrupt the normal flow of traffic. Information regarding those funerals and the associated traffic plans can be found below.
Funeral of Chris Northcliffe Saturday, August 18th @ 11:00 AM Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church 1001 Woodcreek Drive College Station
There will not be an escort associated with Mr. Northcliffe’s funeral however we do anticipate a large number of people in attendance. This church is located on the corner of Woodcreek Drive and the State Highway 6 South northbound feeder road. If you need to travel in that area, please plan accordingly.
Funeral of Brazos County Precinct 1 Constable Brian Bachmann Saturday, August 18th @ 2:00 PM Reed Arena Texas A&M University
The service starts at 2:00 PM and should last approximately one hour. At the conclusion of the service, a lengthy motorcade will leave Reed Arena, travel south to George Bush Drive and continue eastbound on George Bush Drive to Texas Avenue. The motorcade will continue south on Texas Avenue and conclude at Memorial Funeral Home (2901 Texas Avenue South). It is very possible that this motorcade will delay traffic along this route for at least 2 hours. In addition, TxDOT will be closing northbound Business 6 (Texas Avenue) at Highway 6 South beginning at 2:45 PM. This closure will last until the end of the motorcade. We are asking the public to avoid travel in this area during the time of the motorcade. If it is necessary for motorists to travel along this route, during this time, they should be advised to expect lengthy delays.
