Aggieland is Fired Up about Johnny Football

Thousands of people were at parties across Aggieland Saturday night to watch Johnny Football make history.

People at Sully's Sports Grill and Bar are still fired up about the record-breaking freshman quarterback, number two, Johnny Football.

“The eyes of the nation are right here looking at College Station....I'm super fired up,” said Jan Lahodney. “When the announcement came, we were high-fiving, guns up, gig ‘em, hook ‘em, we were doing it all.”

Needless to say Jan Lahodney wasn't alone.

“Been following him all year, I don't see how you could give it to anyone but him,” said Jody Copp at the Heisman Watch Party at College Station’s Aggieland Outfitters.

On national television, Johnny Football became the first ever freshman to win the Heisman. Manziel is the first Aggie to win the Heisman in more than 50 years.

“I'm very happy that he belongs to A&M,” said Ruth Singleterry

If Manziel's acceptance speech is any indication, the feeling is mutual

“To the 12th man, to Texas A&M, to Kerville Texas...This Heisman trophy is for you. Gig ‘Em!” said Manziel at the New York City Ceremony.
