Motorists traveling on Highway 6 in Grimes County should expect delays after a Texas Department of Transportation truck and an 18-wheeler collided at around 9:00 a.m. Monday.
Right now, one southbound lane of Highway 6 at Business 6 is closed south of Navasota.
There is no word on injuries.
According to TxDOT, crews were closing a single lane for a fatality accident re-enactment by DPS. The 18-wheeler driver says a car slowed down in front of him, forcing him to hit his brakes. The big rig hit a guardrail, jackknifed, and the trailer hit a traffic mounted attenuator, which is a piece of equipment used as a barrier and to direct traffic around a closure.
More updates to come as soon as information becomes available.
