Man Slain With "American Sniper" Hailed

Posted: 8:48 PM Feb 8, 2013
Reporter: Associated Press

MIDLOTHIAN, Texas - - Mourners have turned out by the hundreds to pay tribute to a man slain with "American Sniper" author Chris Kyle at a North Texas shooting range.

Chad Littlefield died with the former Navy SEAL sniper. At a Friday funeral at the First Baptist Church in Midlothian, friends remembered Littlefield as a man of character and deep commitment.

Littlefield was known to join Kyle in reaching out to combat veterans struggling to recover from their traumatic experiences. Authorities say the two men took Marine veteran Eddie Ray Routh to a Glen Rose range in an effort to befriend him and provide support. Investigators say Routh shot Kyle and Littlefield dead Feb. 2.
