The U.S. Honor Flag is a fixture at services for fallen heroes across the country, and this week it will be used during services for Bryan Fire Lieutenants Gregory Pickard and Eric Wallace.
This particular set of stars and stripes has been present for more than a thousand funerals for those who dedicate their lives to serving and protecting others. The Honor Network was founded on the conviction that every person committed in service deserves the support of every American. It arrived in Bryan mid-day Tuesday at Hillier Funeral Home and is being held with the casket of Lt. Gregory Pickard until the public memorial service on Wednesday.
The flag is held under tight security and is equipped with micro-chips to track the services it has been a part of. The flag originally flew over the Texas State Capitol building on September 11th.
