Rockdale Shooting Suspect Expected to Be Charged

A Milam County man is being held on $100,000 bond in connection with the Sunday shooting death of Sheila Owens of Rockdale, and is expected to be charged today.

Investigators believe Stephen Daniell, 46, was involved in the death of Owens.

A lieutenant with the Rockdale Police Department says Owens was pronounced dead at the couple's home Sunday night after having suffered a shotgun blast to the head.

Daniell walked down the street to phone in the shooting, met police at a neighbor's home, then led them to Owens' body in the driveway of their residence.

Daniell was arrested without incident and police recovered the weapon involved.

An autopsy was ordered by the Justice of the Peace on scene.
