William (Bill) Parten ran unopposed for Mayor. Parten currently serves as Mayor Pro-Tem and will replace current Mayor Terri Creel in that position. Creel did not file for re-election. Parten received 143 votes during Saturday's election.

On February 22nd, Mayor Creel accepted the resignation of Council Member Debra Drake who notified the city she was moving out of district and would no longer be able to serve on the city council. To fill Drake's vacated position, the current council appointed Doug Sparkman to serve out Drake's unexpired term.
