Judge Revokes Bond for Repeat DWI Offender

A Bryan man who was recently arrested for his sixth DWI charge is back in jail after a visiting district judge revokes his bond.

Forty year old Michael Shawn Thomas has faced six charges of driving while intoxicated ranging as far back as May of 1996. His most recent conviction was in June of 2008, where he received a sentence of three years in prison.

On Feb. 22, Thomas was arrested on charges of his fifth DWI offense and evading arrest. One month later, Thomas was reportedly involved in a head on collision and was arrested again on charges of DWI. An assistant district attorney filed a motion to revoke Thomas’s bond, and in a Friday hearing, the bond was revoked.
