Government officials and over one hundred community members gathered Saturday for the Navasota Municipal Airport Expansion ribbon cutting ceremony.

The ceremony celebrated the expansion of the airport to a size of 5,000 feet in length and 75 feet in width via assistance from a TXDOT grant and a land donation by Bob Waltrip. The new expansion reportedly allows jet traffic at the airport.

The event featured a B-25 Mitchell Bomber on display courtesy of the Lone Star Flight Museum of Galveston, Texas.

Among those in attendance were Congressmen Bill Flores and Kevin Brady, State Rep. Lois Kolkhorst, as well as city and county officials.
