It's been over a month since Chilifest 2012 and the money is finally tallied. Tuesday afternoon Chilifest Directors handed out over $177,000 dollars to local charities.

A few of the charities that received Chilifest money are alcohol awareness organizations like CARE and MADD. They each received $10,000.

Chilifest 2012 saw a slight decrease in Chilifest Teams, however the overall attendance was record breaking with over 55,000 people attending in a two-day window. Chilifest Teams play a big role in the bottom line of revenue, so they are looking at ways to increase Chilifest Teams next year to ensure additional contributions for 2013.

The date has already been set for Chilifest 2013, Friday and Saturday, April 5th and 6th.
