More Detailed Description of Missing CS Man Released

New information is emerging about a missing College Station man who disappeared from his home three days ago.

News 3 spoke with Manuel Mariaca's family Wednesday as well as neighbors and discovered police still need your help.

35-year-old construction worker Manuel Mariaca disappeared without a trace Sunday afternoon after being spotted at Southwest Parkway and Anderson Street.

Neighbors at Anderson Place apartments like Seneca Homeyer are worried.

"I was pretty shocked because I thought I lived in a pretty decent neighborhood I'm not assuming something bad happened to him. That's just crazy man I've never been around stuff like that," said Homeyer.

Brazos County Sheriff's Department even dragged a pond while K-9s and cops searched on land near the Andy Anderson Arboretum Tuesday.

Police say a personal item near the scene prompted the search.

While several neighbors we spoke with had seen Manuel, none of them knew him personally. With so many unanswered questions News 3 decided to keep on knocking.

News 3 tracked down Mariaca's sister-in law who told us off camera that she, her husband and Manuel all live in an apartment together.

She also said he was gone after they came back from an out of town trip.

He'd recently moved here from Los Angeles.

"It is so unusual for him just to disappear, had not been here in the United States very long. He does not have a big circle of friends and he normally keeps to himself," said Officer Rhonda Seaton of the College Station Police Department.

"It's a little unsettling cause like I've kind of I feel comfortable here but I'm still getting use to the area," said Seneca Homeyer.

A mysterious case with few clues on where Manuel Mariaca went.

Investigators say Mariaca was last seen Sunday afternoon wearing a gray shirt and jeans.

He is Hispanic, 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighs between 140 and 150 pounds, has long brown hair and an Indian head tattoo on one arm.

Investigators are continuing to interview friends, family and potential witnesses in an effort to locate Manuel Melendez Mariaca.

Hispanic male
Approximately 5’6”
140-150 pounds
Shoulder length brown hair (normally worn in a pony tail)
Brown eyes
Tattoo of an “Indian head” on one arm
Goatee
Last seen wearing a grey shirt and jeans
