Hearne Pot Arrest

A 21 Year Old Hearne man was arrested in the early morning hours of Monday, May 28th Officers of the Hearne Police Department were dispatched to a Hearne area Convenience Store in reference to a Shoplifting in Progress Call.

Officers arrived on-scene and made contact with Jamie Desean Smith. Upon contact with Smith, Officers detected the odor of Marijuana coming from Smith’s clothing and vehicle. Officers conducted a search of Smith and his vehicle and recovered a usable quantity of Marijuana as well as the stolen merchandise.

The Marijuana was recovered after the man attempted to hide it inside his underwear. Jamie DeSean Smith was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana < 2 Oz. and Theft < $50.00. If convicted the man could face a $2000.00 fine and up to 180 days in jail.
