It was a great afternoon for some softball in College Station and for a worthy cause too.
Some familiar faces were on the diamond at Veterans Park with team KBTX taking on the Bryan Police Department in a friendly game of softball.
Nearly a dozen teams played Saturday in support of the Sexual Assault Resource Center. SARC provides crisis services, educational prevention programs, and even free counseling for those affected by sexual violence.
"Today I think is our 9th annual Bob Wyatt Crosstown Lockdown it's just something we do every year just as a way to kind of connect with the community and as well as raise funds for just general support for the agency. We always have a good turnout," said Anna Chowdhury, Sexual Assault Resource Center Executive Director.
The Sexual Assault Resource Center typically serves between 300 and 400 people a year.
