The City of College Station has agreed to a settlement in their lawsuit against Alex Ford.

Ford was convicted of driving drunk and slamming into a College Station Officer Tracy Sheets back in January 2010. The 24-year-old started serving her 6-year prison sentence in February of 2012.

Tracy Sheets has since retired from the College Station Police Department.

The city and Sheets filed a lawsuit against Ford to reclaim expenses and worker's compensation costs.

At Thursday night's city council meeting, College Station council members unanimously approved a settlement offer in the lawsuit.

The settlement gives the city $65,000 for attorney's fees and allows for any money collected from the restitution judgement against Ford to go to Sheets.

When News 3 asked the city of College Station for a comment on the settlement, they said because settlement terms of all parties are not yet final, the city currently is unable to provide further comment.
