Reporter: Associated Press

Police have arrested a man accused in the Southeast Texas shooting deaths of his girlfriend and the grandfather of some of her children.

Bond has been set at $1 million for 28-year-old Jose Chinchilla, who was arrested Wednesday afternoon at a Beaumont apartment complex. He faces two counts of capital murder and is also on an immigration hold.

Jefferson County jail officials had no immediate information Thursday on an attorney for Chinchilla, who had been sought following the June 12 killings.

The bodies of 24-year-old Francisca Garza and 44-year-old Gregorio Sanchez were found on a Beaumont street. Police say Garza had several children and Chinchilla is the father of one of the youngsters.
