OLA, Texas -- One man was killed and 10 people were sent to the hospital after a four-car crash over the weekend in Kaufman County near the town of Ola.
State troopers say it that started when a Cadillac Escalade was trying to pass a pickup on state Highway 243. While passing the pickup, the Escalade hit an oncoming pickup head-on. As the driver of the pickup being passed began stopping, that car was then rear-ended by a Chevrolet Tahoe.
The Tahoe rolled, killing a man inside and the driver fled the scene.
Trooper Lonny Haschel says the accident happened on a two-lane road in a remote area.
