DALLAS - The North Texas Tollway Authority is warning its worst toll scofflaws: pay up or they'll take you to civil court.
NTTA posted a list of the top 100 toll violators on their website Wednesday with past-due bills ranging from $75,189 to $179,596.
Spokesman Michael Rey says the most egregious had more than 4,000 unpaid tolls at the end of 2011, which is neither an accident nor mistake but "a wanton refusal to pay for service you use."
Rey says they don't want to sue customers but will and listing their names puts them on notice.
The authority, one of the first to go to an all-electronic toll system, says motorists without TollTags are billed at a 50 percent higher rate with ZipCash, the NTTA's pay-by-invoice option.
