Teen dead after running across freeway

HOUSTON- Authorities say a 14-year old boy is dead after trying to run across Interstate 10 in Houston late Saturday evening.

Several boys were running across the highway trying to avoid traffic. The boy tried to turn around when he saw a car coming. Police say the driver tried to dodge the boy but could not.

The boy died at the scene near the Normandy exit southwest of downtown Houston.

No other boys were injured in the incident.

The driver of the car has not been charged and police say the driver was not impaired.
