Identity Now Known of Person Hit and Killed on Train Tracks in Bryan

Bryan Police Investigating Body Found on Railroad, Near Finfeather

The deceased has been identified as Lonnie R. Conner Jr., a 22 year old male from Bryan. The investigation is still ongoing.

On Monday, August 20, 2012, at 3:56 am, the Bryan Police Department responded to a major accident call on the railroad tracks near the intersection of 3200 Finfeather Rd. and W. Villa Maria Rd. Union Pacific railroad notified Brazos County 911 that a male had been hit by a passing train headed northbound on the tracks. The Criminal Investigation Division, the Crime Scene Unit, and Union Pacific Police also responded to the scene to investigate.

The black male was pronounced deceased on scene by Justice of the Peace Vera Lara-Hooge. An autopsy has been ordered. No one else was hurt during the accident. The intersection of F&B Road and Wellborn Rd. is closed due to the stopped train that was involved in the accident. The deceased’s name will be released pending next of kin notification.

Bryan police are currently investigating a body that was found on the railroad tracks early Monday morning.

Crime scene investigators are collecting evidence at the scene. Police say the call came in around 4 a.m. and believe the death to have happened sometime overnight. They believe the individual was hit and killed by the train.

Both of the railroads in that area are shut down while police investigate.

The outside, northbound lane of Finfeather is closed. Traffic is moving slowly in the area.
